Dawn L. Shepherd

Dawn Shepherd, born on October 13, 1970, in Miami, Florida, passed away on April 12, 2025 in Tacoma, Washington. Her passing marks the loss of a vibrant spirit whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around her.
Dawn cherished time spent with family and loved ones. She found deep happiness in the company of her grandchildren and took great pride in being surrounded by those that she held dear. Dawn especially treasured moments shared with her husband, Michael Henley-affectionately known as "Money Mike"-whose presence was a constant source of comfort and joy.
A woman of faith and tradition, Dawn enjoyed attending church and found peace in spiritual connection. She had a unique sense of humor and comfort that shone through in everyday preferences-like always keeping the air conditioner running regardless of the weather. Dawn also delighted in sending cards to loved ones for holidays and special occasions, a thoughtful gesture that reflected her caring nature.
Dawn's favorite things included putting on her favorite sweat suits and shoes to go for car rides with Money Mike. These simple pleasures were among the many ways she embraced life with enthusiasm and love. Her motto, 'SHEPHERDS ARE FIGHTERS' was more than just words; it was a testament to her enduring strength and resilience.
Dawn is survived by Dewayne Shepherd, Lennie Eddines, Latoya Eddines, Tyler Seward, Michael Henley, her mother Cherri Toepelt, her brothers Brian & Butch, sister Shirley and all of her grandchildren. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church (1302 S. 8th St, Yakima, WA 98901) at 1:00pm.
