Lorane E. Becker passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 10, 2026, in Kennewick, his home for over 56 years. Lorane Becker was born to Henry F. Becker and Pauline Linger Becker, German Russian immigrants, on December 27, 1930, in Yakima, WA. The family moved to Ritzville shortly after that. Lorane played football for the RHS Broncos and graduated with the Class of 1949. He met Lorraine Iltz of Odessa in 1950, and they were married on January 7, 1951. They spent 65 years together until her passing in 2016. Lorane began his 42-year career with Safeway at age 14, eventually working his way up to Store Manager in Ritzville, Walla Walla, and each of the Tri-Cities. In retirement, he enjoyed wood-working crafts and helping others with all kinds of home improvement projects. Lorane is survived by his daughters, Lynnell Everett (Yantzee) of Kennewick and Laurice May (Rick) of Spokane; grandchildren, Nicole Rogers of Phoenix, AZ, Andrea Rogers (Nick Rodriguez, children, Averie and Hagen) of Kennewick, and Erick May of Spokane; sister, Ruth Becker Gust of Ritzville; brother, Delmar (Liz) of Spokane; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Iltz Frederick, Janice Iltz, and Jean Iltz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorane had a special relationship with nephew, Randy Gust of Ritzville, and helped him with wheat harvest many years during his retirement. Preceding Lorane in death were his wife, Lorraine; his parents; brother, Alvin; and sisters, Erma Becker Johnston and Julia Becker Maier. Lorane was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of First Lutheran Church of Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of Kennewick, 418 N. Yelm St., Kennewick, WA 99336, or Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, 1480 Fowler St., Richland, WA 99352. We would like to thank the staff at Windsong for their wonderful care of our dad as he lived out his final years. Visitation will be on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville from 12 Noon to 5 PM. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on February 21, at Ritzville Lutheran Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life following at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 206 S. Division St., Ritzville, WA.
