Dawn Thomas Obituary
Dawn was born on March 16, 1961, in New Haven, CT. She graduated from East Haven High School in 1979 and worked for Prime Technology in North Branford. After several years of service, she proudly became a stay-at-home mom, where she excelled in giving her boys the best upbringing possible.
For many years, Dawn enjoyed throwing holiday and birthday parties at her home. She always included every attending child as if it were their special day as well. After raising her boys, Dawn worked in the restaurant field and then at a local daycare center, taking care of children, as she enjoyed doing, and finally worked at Amazon in Wallingford until her passing.
Dawn is survived by her mother, Phyllis Thomas, and her sons, Robert Popolizio (Cynthia) and Michael Popolizio (Cloie), and Grandson Oliver, sister of Suzan (Bob) Buchina and Kim Thomas (Cliff), and her brother, Gregory Thomas (Sarah). Also survived by her aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and many lifelong friends. Also leaves behind her fiancé Tom.
She was predeceased by her father, Douglas Sr., and her brother, Douglas Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT 06514, with Visitation from 9am-10:30am. Funeral Service starting at 10:30am in Hamden Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Condolence may be expressed at www.hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
