Deaconess Gertrude Davis Scott, 94, was born August 1, 1931 in Bedford County, VA. She transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Jeff and Susie Davis. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lenwood Scott Jr.; son, Glenn O. Scott; daughter-in-law, Gail Scott; son-in-law, Randolph Wright; two brothers, Lowell Davis and Carol Davis; and sister, Jeanette Scott.

Gertrude accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Altha Grove Baptist Church in Forest, VA. She served as a dedicated member until health issues arose.

Gertrude leaves to cherish her memories, one dedicated daughter, Carolyn S. Wright: two special grandsons, Randie Wright (Rosemary) of Evington, VA and Sean "Tony" Wright (Cecelia) of Goode, VA; three great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Davis of Washington, DC; four sisters, Jean Ferguson, Betty Harris, Evelyn Higginbotham (Wallace) and Peggy Ferguson (Rodney) all of Lynchburg, VA; one brother-in-law, Charlie Scott of Lynchburg, VA; two special nieces, Mary Stratton and Viola Scott of Lynchburg, VA; one special cousin, Gilliam Cobbs of Lynchburg, VA; a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
