Dean Matthew Chacon, a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 20, 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on September 17, 1963, in Espanola, New Mexico, Dean leaves behind a legacy filled with joy and cherished memories.
Dean's passion for serving his country led him to proudly join the Army where he dedicated two years of his life. During his service he displayed exemplary skills and was honored with the Army Service Ribbon, Expert (hand grenade), and Sharpshooter (M-16 Rifle) accolades.
Having graduated from Espanola High School in 1980, Dean's vibrant personality and creative spirit was reflected in his pursuit of various hobbies and interests; showing his love for painting, gardening, shopping, collecting hats, spending time with family, talking on the phone, fishing, bowling, and playing pool. He loved celebrating birthdays, holidays and especially spending time with his family
Dean will be dearly missed by his surviving family members: Patricia Segura (mother) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Johnny Chacon (father) of Alcalde, New Mexico; Liana Chacon (daughter) of Los Ranchos; New Mexico; John Chacon (brother) of Rio Rancho; New Mexico; Nathan Vigil (son-in-law) of Los Ranchos; New Mexico; Elena Felix (sister-in-law) of Rio Rancho; New Mexico; Milli Vigil (granddaughter) of Los Ranchos; New Mexico; Mariah Vigil (granddaughter) of Los Ranchos. New Mexico; In addition to his immediate family, Dean is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles , cousins , and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and warmth.
Dean Matthew Chacon will forever be remembered for his caring nature and zest for life. May his soul rest in eternal peace as we hold onto the beautiful memories he has left behind.
