Dean G. Cook, age 60, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away unexpectedly and suddenly at his home on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Dean was born in Rhinelander, WI, on September 29, 1963, to Ronald Cook and Donna Gilbertson. He was married to the love and light of his life, Margaret "Marge" Hallas, in 1986.
Dean graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1982. He proudly served his community with the Sugar Camp Fire Department for many years and worked at Erv's Sales & Service for 24 years. He enjoyed motorcycle trips, camping, water sports, pontooning, horseshoe leagues, and could fix anything with an engine. He loved the outdoors ice fishing, deer hunting, turkey hunting, and snowmobiling. Dean was an extremely hard worker, always on the go, who had a hard time sitting still. If someone needed help, Dean was always there offering a helping hand. His grandchildren were everything to him and he was happiest spending time with them. He was a man everyone loved and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Marge Cook; his daughters, Amanda (Mark) Snow and Lindsy (David) Frelich; his father and stepmother, Ronald and Dawn Cook; his brothers, Mike (Vikki) Cook, Phil (Carla) Guolee, and Russell (Sherry) Paukner; and his sisters, Paula (Mike) Fleury and Lisa Setzer. Dean is further survived by his grandchildren, Ava Frelich, Henry Snow, Aislinn Frelich, Allison Snow, and Wesley Frelich. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Guolee; his stepfather, Thomas Guolee; and his brother, Nicholas Cook.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at The Loop Hole Bar, 2243 County Rd. L, Tomahawk, WI, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Please come, bring a dish to pass if you would like, and memories to share. Beer and soda will be provided and any additional drinks can be purchased from the bar. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
