Dean R. Gibson

Dean Randall Gibson, 65, passed away in his home on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from pancreatic cancer. His family remembers him as a playful and loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved God, traveling, and photography. His friends and neighbors remember him as an unfailingly kind person, cutting their lawns and snow blowing their driveways without being asked.

Dean was born on July 29, 1959 in Sculthorpe, England to a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force. A military brat, Dean spent his childhood in England and Florida before the family settled in Chesaning, Michigan. He eventually moved to Bay City to start his own family. An avid photographer, Dean managed Ritz Camera in the Fashion Square Mall and had a side business in wedding photography. He then transitioned into real estate, becoming a licensed residential appraiser and starting his own business, Bay Star Appraisals.

A man of strong faith, Dean was a deeply involved church member his whole life, often leading Bible studies and even preaching from the pulpit when the pastor was on vacation. Dean also had many hobbies, including woodworking, studying aircraft, playing cards, building model airplanes and Lego sets, visiting national parks, and of course, taking pictures. His house was filled with photographs he took while traveling with his family.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife, the former Judy Ann Petrimoulx, whom he married on October 10, 1987, his daughter Katherine (Sam) Easter, and his young grandson Theodore. He is preceded in death by parents, Jimmie and Greta (Coles), and his sister Alison.

There will be a visitation held from 2-8pm on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Rivertown Funeral Chapel in Kawkawlin. The viewing will be at North Euclid Church of God on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 11am-12pm with the funeral service to follow. Private burial will be held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or North Euclid Church of God.
