Dean Marcel Hamel

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we share the passing of Dean Hamel, who left us far too soon on February 10 in Bonita Springs, Florida. Dean's greatest legacy is the family he cherished. He was the father of Brandon and Ashlyn, who remained his greatest source of pride and joy, a bond he deeply shared with their mother, Michelle. He was the adoring "Papa Deano" to his twin grandsons, Arlo and Beck, a beloved brother to David, Dennis, Dale, Dawn, and Cinderella, and the legendary "Uncle Ocean Kisses" to a host of nieces and nephews who will carry his playful spirit with them forever.

A proud son of Cranston, Rhode Island, Dean's journey began at Cranston High School East and led him to Northeastern University. His brilliant mind for chemical engineering took him from his early days as a co-op student at Ciba Geigy to the heights of his profession in Alabama. Dean was a natural leader, eventually channeling his expertise and drive into his own successful consulting company, which he spearheaded with dedication for 16 years.

But Dean was so much more than his accomplishments; he was a man who lived with an unmistakable zest for life. He truly embraced the fast lane-whether he was feeling the power behind the wheel of his Corvette or simply enjoying the breeze in his golf cart. He found beauty in the world around him, from the refined elegance of a fine dinner to the adrenaline of a Patriots game, and the quiet peace of the Florida sun during his daily walks.

Dean moved through the world with a signature wit and an adventurous soul that drew people to him. While we struggle with the weight of a life that feels unfinished, we choose to celebrate the brilliance he shared, the laughter he sparked, and the immense generosity of his heart. Dean left the world a brighter place, and we are all better off having been loved by him.
