Barry Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beachwood Society - Naples on Feb. 18, 2026.
September 17, 1941 – February 2026

Barry Lee Brown of Naples passed away peacefully in February 2026 at the age of 84.

Born on September 17, 1941, Barry grew up in Des Moines, where he developed the strong work ethic, charm, and outgoing personality that would define his life. He built a long and successful career in sales, a profession perfectly suited to his natural charisma and gift for conversation. Later in life, he transitioned into real estate with Caldwell Banker, where he continued doing what he loved most - connecting with people.

Barry was an avid and accomplished golfer who could often be found on the course enjoying both the game and the camaraderie that came with it. He had a strong, fun-loving personality and a way of making friends wherever he went. He loved traveling, especially visiting national parks, and appreciated the beauty and adventure the world had to offer.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Kerbs and her husband Darrin of Naples Florida; his son, Douglas Brown, and daughter-in-law Kristin Brown of Berlin, Germany; and his beloved granddaughters, Addison and Berkeley Brown of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He also leaves behind many dear friends whose lives were made brighter by his humor, warmth, and presence.

Barry was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Brown; his father, Lee Brown; and his sister, Michelle Sawyer.

Barry will be remembered for his strength, laughter, love of golf, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family and friends who carry his stories forward.

Private services will be held.
