Joseph Stintzi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home on Mar. 3, 2026.
Joseph P. Stintzi, 63, of Naples, Florida, and formerly of Adrian, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Frances Georgeson Hospice House in Naples after an extended illness.

Joe was born on January 3, 1963, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, the son of the late Earl and Mary (née Kuchler) Stintzi. He spent many years in Adrian, Michigan, before moving to Naples two years ago.

A proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Joe earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and distinguished himself as one of the university's most accomplished student-athletes. He was a three-time NCAA All-American, a ten-time All-Big Ten selection in track and cross country, and a member of two NCAA Division I National Championship Cross Country teams. Joe also represented his sport on two U.S. National cross country and track teams. His passion for running never faded; for eight years, he generously volunteered his time coaching middle school and high school track and cross-country teams in Adrian, mentoring young athletes and sharing his love of competition and perseverance.

Professionally, Joe built a remarkable career spanning more than 35 years as a sales professional representing world-class athletic and outdoor brands to some of the nation's largest retailers. In 2016, he founded The Stintzi Group, an independent sales agency dedicated to delivering exceptional service and representing premier quality brands. Joe's integrity, work ethic, and commitment to excellence earned him the respect and friendship of colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of his professional and athletic accomplishments, Joe embraced life fully. He was an avid golfer, cherished watching sunsets on the beach, and found joy in writing songs and playing his guitar. Above all, Joe treasured time spent with his family, who were the center of his world.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jocelyn L. Stintzi of Naples, Florida; his three children, Cameron J. Stintzi (Lauren) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Gavin T. Stintzi of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Gabrielle L. Stintzi of Lansing, Michigan; two brothers, Steve Stintzi (Debra) of San Antonio, Texas, and Jim Stintzi (Gail) of Charleston, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe will be remembered for his competitive spirit, generous heart, unwavering dedication to family, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held on at 11:00 AM on May 30, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. A reception will follow in the church hall.

I worked with Joe at TNF.
We only saw each other a few times a year at work events but he always made those gatherings more fun and I always looked forward to seeing him. Along with compatriot Dave Crossen we had many chuckles!
Joe was one of the good ones in our biz.
My thoughts are with the family, I know his sunshine will be missed.
Best,
Jeff Stratton
