Private graveside for Dean “PD” Howle, age 81 of Sulphur Springs will be held at Shooks Chapel Cemetery at a later date with Macen Howle, Brycen Howle, Tatom Sink, Grason Sink, Heith Stubbs, and Clint Howle serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Howle passed away on December 3, 2025 at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

Dean was born on December 13, 1943 in Greenville, Texas to Frank and Lillian (Bryant) Howle. He was raised in Yantis, Texas where he graduated high school in 1961. Dean was a member of the Fighting Owls basketball team. He attended Tyler Junior College. He worked at Rockwell International in Sulphur Springs. Dean served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1968. He married Mary Linda Murphy in 1966. Dean and Mary returned to Sulphur Springs in 1968 to be co-owners of Murphy Building Supply until 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Sulphur Springs where he taught the 5-year-old Sunday school class for over 16 years. Dean served as president of the Sulphur Springs Jaycees. He also served on the Martin Springs Water Supply Board of directors for over 50 years. Dean was known as “PD” to his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and most of their friends.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; daughter, Kelly Sink and husband Tim of Quitman; son, Murphy Howle and Shannon Kenney of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Kaili Stubbs and Heith, Macen Howle and Ashley; Brycen Howle and wife, Magan; Tatom Sink and wife, Whitney, Jalie Howle, and Grason Sink; great grandchildren, Hynzlee, Macy, Blakely, Linkyn, Blair, Journee, Kohl, Bristol, Brylee, Halle, Britton, and TJ set to arrive Dec. 18; brother, Tommy Howle and wife, Carrol of Quitman; nephews, Clint Howle and wife, Jenny and Todd Howle.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and precious great-grandson, Kase Alan Stubbs.
