Dean Arthur Knutson

Dean Arthur Knutson, 88, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was born April 17, 1936 to Archie and Ann (Waterberry) Knutson in Bowman, North Dakota.
The Knutson family lived in California for a time then moved to Holley, Oregon. Dean graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1954 and served in the Navy until 1958. He was united in marriage to Darlene J. Hutchins on January 29, 1959 and renewed their vows on November 15, 1997.
Dean's greatest joy was racing motocross which he did until age 69. He liked spending time with his family and friends, camping, hiking, visiting the coast and traveling. He loved to work on motors as well. Dean would always lend a hand where need and always had a smile on his face.
He is survived by his four children: Michelle Hoesing, Angela Knutson, Paula Patton, Darin Knutson; sister Kay; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. Dean is preceded in death by his parents Archie and Ann Knutson, brother Don Knutson, sister Donna Plummer, wife Darlene Knutson, grandson Andrew Patton.
A funeral service will be 10 am Monday, December 16th at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
