Dean Mehlow, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Ruth; daughters Kerry Gianni, Kathy Barton (Jim), and Kris Lyons; cherished grandchildren Connor (Allison), Carter (Azelyn), Kaden, Karma, Kyah, Luke, and Lily; and great-grandchildren Caeland and Greyson. He is also survived by his younger brother, Al Mehlow (Kathy), and many extended family members and dear friends.
Dean dedicated over 30 years of service to AT&T and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. A man of deep faith, he was an active member of Grace Community Church in Fremont, where he found joy and purpose in serving others.
He had a love for the simple pleasures in life—fishing, boating, camping, working in the yard, and traveling with his beloved Ruthie. He enjoyed reading his Bible, classic cars, and putting puzzles together. But more than anything, Dean treasured time spent with his family, who will remember him for his quiet strength, warm smile, and unwavering love.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of Dean's life will be held on Friday, August 1 from 2:00-6:00pm at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Community Church in Fremont, OH or to WoundedWarriorsProject.org in honor of his memory. Thank you.
