SWANTON - Dean Riley Sr., age 66, passed away on Friday, April 5th, 2024, at his home in Swanton with his family by his side.
He was born on January 7th, 1958, in St. Albans to the late Phillip & Virginia (Robtoy) Riley.
Dean's love for his wife of 41 years, Laura Riley, was evident to all who knew them. He took great pleasure in spending time with his family, tending to his garden, and mowing his lawns under the Vermont sky. In his spare moments, Dean enjoyed fishing and listening to oldies music.
He was a dedicated maintenance worker in facilities. Dean's commitment to service extended beyond his professional life to his role in the National Guard. He served his country with honor for over 20 years.
Dean is survived by his wife, Laura Riley; their children, Dean Riley and his wife Beth, Debbie Snider and her husband Henry, and Cheryl Breault and her husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Megan, Damian, Nicole, Benjamin, Dylan, Faith, Tristan, Chelsea, Erika, and Fabyan; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Cecil Riley and his wife Kim, Gloria Riley, and Glenn Riley and his wife Nancy; special friends, Terry Shedrick, Dale Farr, Linn Hazen, and Becky Alger; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dean was predeceased by his granddaughter, Veronica Snider; and his sister, Tonia Ryan.
Friends & family are invited to Dean's life celebration on Friday, April 12th, 2024, to include visitation from 11:00-1:00 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT. A graveside memorial service will follow at 1:30 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Canada Street, Swanton, VT.
For those who wish, contributions in Deans' memory can be made to St. Jude’s's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
