Dean C. Rubens, 75, of Green Bay, WI, passed away on January 18, 2025, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. Born November 13, 1949, he graduated from Luxemburg High School with the class of 1967. He was a gifted athlete during his high school years, excelling in both basketball and football. Following service in the Army National Guard, Dean had a 47-year career at James River Paper Mill, retiring as a Master Tech.
Dean had many interests in life, but among some of his favorites were boating and spending time on the water. He was an avid bowler, achieving the elusive perfect bowling score of 300. Dean was a lover of nature and greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at Bay Shore Park. In his later years, he loved gardening, planting flowers, and tending to his lawn which he took great pride in. Dean had a special place in his heart for animals and loved his dogs.
Dean is survived by his children: Justin (Nitra LaGrander) Rubens; Jessica (Paul) Solie; Danielle Rubens; 4 grandchildren: Claire, Sophia, Charlie Solie, and Madison Rubens; his siblings: Linda (Sam) Malcore and Dennis (Gail) Rubens. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Russell and Bernice (Englebert) Rubens.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses at Aurora BayCare Medical Center and Ellen Shaw for their compassionate care. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Private services will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
