Dean Francis Schuebel

Dean , nickname Flex for his incredible biceps, father, and the driving force behind a remarkable family legacy in athletics, passed away suddenly on January 25. He was 76 years old.

Born in Rice Lake, WI Dean lived a life defined by dedication, encouragement, and an unwavering belief in the power of sports to build character, discipline, and lifelong bonds. His greatest joy came from introducing his children to track and field at a young age, fostering a love for competition and hard work that would shape their lives and extend through generations.

Under his guidance and support, his daughters excelled in athletics. His daughter Tiffini became a standout in track and field, earning induction into the Rice Lake town's hall of fame. She continued her success at South Dakota State University (SDSU), where she was inducted into the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame for her exceptional achievements in the jumps, including multiple conference titles and All-American honors.

His oldest daughter, Anna, carved her own path as a successful natural bodybuilder, appearing in prominent magazines for her dedication and physique.

Dean's daughter Anna's passing was the deepest sorrow of Dean's s life, a heartbreak that words can scarcely capture. Yet her spirit lived on through the family: Tiffini honored her sister by naming her daughter after Anna and by continuing the tradition of training in track and field, ensuring the legacy endures.

Dean's was more than a coach or supporter-he was the heart of it all. He attended countless meets, practices, and events, cheering louder than anyone, offering quiet wisdom after tough losses, and celebrating every victory as if it were his own. His influence extended far beyond medals and records; he taught resilience and the importance of pursuing excellence.

Dean was a Math teacher at Rice Lake High School from 1973 - 1986, Model and was a jack of all trades from roofer to handyman. He was married to Colleen Cipra Minkel from 1971-1982. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his beloved girlfriend Dawn Cress, 5 children; Tiffini (Jason) Kramer, Stephanie (Jonathan) Green, Erica Anna-Marie Gillett, Dustin Dean Gillett, Britta Dorothy Schuebel, 9 Grandchildren Draco Lorenz, Anna Keefer (Adriana Rizzo NXT), Charlie Keefer, Max Keefer, Gabby Keefer, Jonathan Green, Mathieu Green, Marcus Green, Jeanie Green; 3 Great Grandchildren Azalea Lorenz, Colt Lorenz, and Clay Lorenz.

5 brothers; Dale Schuebel, Duane Schuebel, Dwight (Debbie) Schuebel, Doug (Rhona) Schuebel, Donnie (Kristie) Schuebel

4 sisters; MaryJane (Bud) Jahnke, Marjorie Bodenhiemer, Anne (Kris) Petersen, Carolyn (Larry) Guenther; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Anna, whose memory he carried every day, Parents Donald and Dorothy Schuebel, brothers Dennis and John Schuebel. Sister-in-law Colleen Jacobson, 2 brother-in-law, Jim Bodenhiemer & Timothy James Walsh, and his nephew Ryan Schuebel.

A celebration of Dean's s life will be held at a later date.

Though he has left this world, the tracks he helped paved for his family and all who knew him-will forever bear his imprint. His legacy runs strong in every stride, every lift, and every moment of perseverance. Rest in peace, Dad. You were our greatest champion.
