Dean S. "Papa Dean" Yost

Dean S. Yost, 73, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 9, 1952, Dean was raised and spent his life in Tewksbury.
Dean was a retired mechanic with U.S. Foods Service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed camping in the White Mountains, watching NASCAR, and cheering for his favorite teams, the West Virginia Mountaineers and the New York Yankees. Dean also took great pride in tending to his tomato garden, and sharing them with family and friends.
He will be fondly remembered for his good humor and kind heart, as well as for his playful spirit with his kitten, Ruca, who often kept him covered in scratches and bandages from their daily adventures.
Dean was predeceased by his beloved son, Ronald Dean Yost. He is survived by his granddaughters, Madden and Morgan Yost; brother, George Yost; sister, Barbara Galloni; his ex-wife and longtime friend, Nancy Yost Massicotte, and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
"Papa Dean" will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dean's memory to the Joslin Diabetes Foundation.
