My Uncle Deane was a classy, proud professor. His role in education created an incredible network of friends all over the country in education and agri-business. He was proud of his country, ancestors and his family. As Paul wrote to Timothy in Second Timothy, chapter 4 vs.7 - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the Race, I have kept the faith". Dr. Deane, we will miss you.

Great Uncle Dr. Dean Turner,
where do I start? I remember visits from Uncle Dean and Ferryl all over the country. Well known that Uncle Dean was the first "Dr." in our family. He was a great teacher and was always learning. He was part of the RAM club (Retired Agriculture Men) from the U of M. I'm sure that my dad and I both went to the U of M because of Dean. He spent much time talking about his experiences in the B17 Fortress as a copilot and going down over Belgium, as well as the Turner family history going back into Scotland. He is already greatly missed.

Deane was my father Ralph's cousin. Following my father's death in 1969 at the age of 63, Deane and his late wife Ferryl were very kind to my widowed mother Martha. Deane would help her with house repairs and snow removal tasks. Deane and Ferryl would invite her over for dinner and take her to social events like concerts. He was a very friendly, kind and wonderful man. He will be greatly missed by me and the family.

As one who married into the Turner clan, I appreciated Deane's friendly helpfulness, always evident. It meant he made instantaneous friends which became permanent. His knowledge of the family and its "roots" was a great help to all.
