Deanna Dockery

Deanna Dockery 53, of Marble, was called home to her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 22, 2026 in a Gainesville hospital surrounded by family. She was a native of Cherokee County and a 1991 graduate of Murphy High School. Deanna spent a lifetime singing and praising the Lord and was a devoted member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving homemaker and selfless in every way and devoted every day to ensuring her children and grandchildren were loved and supported.

She was the daughter of Darrell Gates of Murphy and the late Carolyn Dockery. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Dockery.

Surviving are her husband, Darrell Dockery of Marble; one daughter, Hope Dockery of Murphy; three sons, Austin Dockery of Marble, Eric Dockery and wife, Jessica of Murphy and Christian Dockery of Marble; two sisters, Christina Gates and Christie Gates both of Murphy; six grandchildren, Asher Foster, Aurora Imhoff, Nyleigh Coleman, Ember Dockery, Kai Imhoff, Liam Dockery and a granddaughter on the way; also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved as her own.

A Celebration of Life was held at 6:00 PM Friday, February 27, 2026 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Marble, North Carolina with husband and pastor Darrell Dockery officiating. Interment took place in Dockery Memorial Cemetery.
