Deanna Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Amory Funeral Home, Inc. - Yorktown on Dec. 26, 2025.
Deanna Ann (Coty) Jackson, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Yorktown, surrounded by love. She was born on September 9, 1948, in Presque Isle, Maine, to Arsene and Sadie Coty. On June 18, 1966, Deanna married the love of her life, Roland C. Jackson.

Together they shared five decades of devotion, much of it spent traveling with the U.S. Army and building a warm, loving home while raising their two children. Deanna embraced the life of a military spouse with strength, grace, and unwavering support for her family. Deanna was a devoted wife, a deeply loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and the heart of her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing Mah Jong, working on puzzles, and curling up to watch Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones she loved so much. One of her happiest places was Disney World, a love reflected in her cherished collection of Disney T-shirts and countless fond memories. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland C. Jackson; her parents, Arsene and Sadie Coty; and her brothers, Daniel, Roger, and Arthur Coty. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Jane Jackson of Yorktown, Virginia; her daughter, Michelle Gainer of San Angelo, Texas; her siblings, Alfreda Pietka and Howard Cote of Presque Isle, Maine; and her brother-in-law, Larry Jackson of Chesapeake, Virginia. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Trinity Hospice, the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office, and the Peninsula Regional Emergency Communication Center for the kindness, care, and support shown to Deanna and her family during this difficult time. Their dedication and compassion will always be remembered.
