Deanna "Kathy" Kosarek, 73, of Harmony at Southridge, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on August 26, 2025. She was born on February 25, 1952, to the late Howard and Elva Scott.
Kathy was the beloved mother of Kellie (David) Schwabenbauer and Chris (Heather) Kosarek, and the proud Nana to Addison, Dawson, Micah, Seylah, Cameron, and Avery. She was a cherished sister to the late Joyce Swanson, and Lanny Scott and is survived by her brother-in-law Terry Swanson. She was a loving Aunt to Carolyn Turner, (Bill, Jordan and Hunter Jones) Mark Swanson (Anne, Ethan and Elliot) Tommy Scott (Kathy, Sarah and Joey) and Gary Scott and a dear friend to countless others who were touched by her warmth, wisdom, and faith.
A devout Christian, Kathy dedicated her life to serving the Lord with unwavering devotion. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life, and she inspired all who knew her by the way she lived it, with grace, kindness, and compassion.
Kathy was known for her green thumb and took great pride in creating beauty wherever she lived, most recently at Harmony at Southridge, Charleston, WV.
She loved tending her gardens, shopping for treasures, playing cards with friends and family, and sharing her signature long and colorful stories, never leaving out a single detail. She had a gift for listening, always ready to lend an ear or offer thoughtful advice.
Her family and friends will remember her as a woman of deep faith and an unshakable love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, beauty, and cherished memories that will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she loved.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on September 6, 2025, at Harmony of Southridge, as she adored her home and the people who made it a loving community.
Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the remarkable life she lived.
Condolences may be sent to her family at www.barlowbonsall.com.
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
