Deb Hymel, 63, Lansford, formerly of Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in a Minot hospital.

Deborah Ann Hymel was born on October 31, 1961 to Pauline (Mays) and William Burns. She was born, raised and educated in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Deb enlisted into the US Air Force and entered active duty on September 22, 1981. She was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. While stationed here, Deb met Rene "Buzz" Hymel, while he was TDY in Riverdale, ND in 1981. They married on December 16, 1982 and were blessed with two sons, Rene III and William Paul.

Deb and Buzz received orders in 1985 to Vandenberg AFB in California. Deb was honorably discharged for medical reasons after 11 years of service to her country. She returned to Bradford and began working as a guard in the prison system. Deb worked at both the federal and state levels in Pennsylvania until returning to North Dakota in 1997, joining her husband to make their home in Lansford. Deb worked as the manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service for a time and also held different security positions during her working years. She retired in 2012.

Deb loved spending time outdoors. She was an avid fisherwoman enjoying her time on the water fishing with her favorite fishing partner, Buzz or scouting alongside him for their next whitetail buck from the coulee. Deb also enjoyed a good book in her spare time. She will be missed deeply by all who shared in her life.

Deb is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Rene 'Buzz' Hymel, Lansford; sons Rene III (Amanda) Hymel, Glenburn and William "Paul" Hymel, Minot; grandchildren Etionna, Rene IV, Ravin, Rexton, Reenix, Valerie, EmmiLou and StarLynn; sisters Sandy Glase and Bonnie Burns and many nieces and nephews.

Deb is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Suppa and brother-in-law Ralph Glase.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
