Debbie Goth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hill & Son Funeral Home LLC - Appleton City on Jan. 10, 2026.
Debbie Lin Goth was born to Leonard "Lennie" Aloysius Goth and Martha Jane (Bellinghausen) Goth on August 20, 1956, in Appleton City, MO. She departed this life on January 8, 2026, at the age of 69.

Debbie grew up in Montrose, MO, where she attended grade school at Saint Mary's and then graduated from high school at Montrose High School in 1974! She then ventured off to attend college at CMSU in Warrensburg, MO. After college, she worked at Ward Paper Box, managed several convenience stores, and lastly worked at Schreibers for over 20 years.

She had a great work ethic, but that wasn't what brought her joy. That came from loving her family, especially all her nephews, nieces, and their children. If there was an event for any of them, she was there in attendance to cheer them on. She enjoyed her outings with her Aunt Teresa and good friend Mickey. She also enjoyed when her nephew Brian would stop in and see her almost daily to see what trouble she was getting into! Her biggest love in life was her mother, Martha, as they lived together all her life. She cared for her for many years and never wanted her to be alone after her father's passing. She was the queen of worrying, as she worried about everyone's well-being and wanted everyone to be happy. If you ever needed something, you could bet 'Aunt Debbie' would be right there with a helping hand. She was the most selfless, kind, and faithful person who never expected anything in return. She didn't know a stranger, and chances are she'd talk your ear off! That was one of her best qualities - caring so deeply about people and having a giving, empathetic heart. She also was a master at 'cooking for an army,' as she called it, when they had family gatherings. No one ever went without if it was up to 'Aunt Debbie', even if that meant she went without.

In closing, Debbie may never have had any children of her own, but she definitely helped raise many! A big part of Debbie's story was that she was born and raised Catholic and was an active member at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church her whole life. She was blessed with a servant's heart and radiated kindness. She faced many big losses in her life, in which she carried years of sorrow and dealt with severe physical pain. Somehow, she never lost her faith through it all and is now free of all her earthly bounds, rejoicing in her eternal paradise. She is made whole; well done, good and faithful servant.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Lennie and Martha Goth, and her brother Gary Goth.

Survivors include two brothers, Bart Goth and Brent Goth and his wife Paula; one sister, Maria Fennewald and her husband Jack; also, numerous nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
