Debbie Lynn Guidry, a vibrant soul known for her creative spirit and thoughtful nature, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Buchanan Dam, Texas. Born on September 2, 1962, in Hempstead, Texas, Debbie's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
Debbie's journey began as the cherished daughter of Della and Joseph LeJeune. She grew up surrounded by the love of her brothers Gerney and Kalan LeJeune, and carried the memory of her late siblings Blaine, Delton, and Georgia LeJeune. Her life was further blessed by her marriage to her devoted husband, Jerry Guidry, Sr., who preceded her in death, along with their grandson Dylan Fread and Dylan's father Bryan Fread.
A proud mother, Debbie's legacy lives on through her children: Kimberly Wilson and her husband Jay, Kevin Guidry and Heather Larsen, Jay Guidry and Kaylyn Slatcher, and Brayden Guidry, whom she adopted with her husband Jerry. Her love extended to her grandchildren Callie Logan and her husband Jerry, Trenton Fread and Alexis Clark, Raylan Wilson, River Thomison, Alysha Hashaw, Ely Guidry, Ethan Bowling, Olivia Larsen, Austin Guidry, and Tanner Guidry, and to her great-grandson Daxton Fread. Debbie's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she instilled in them her strength, humor, and passion for life.
Professionally, Debbie dedicated herself to caring for others as an assistant in Home Health. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her compassionate and nurturing spirit. She was known for her ability to bring comfort and joy to those in her care, often going above and beyond to ensure their well-being.
Debbie's interests were as diverse as they were delightful. She was an avid cook and baker, known for her delicious seafood boils and Bar-B-Que feasts that became the highlight of family gatherings. Her love for dancing was infectious, and she could often be found swaying to the music, her laughter filling the room. Debbie was also a puzzle enthusiast, enjoying the challenge of puzzle games on her phone, a pastime that reflected her sharp mind and patience.
Her children fondly remember her as strong-willed and, at times, crazy in the most endearing way. Debbie's temper was reserved for moments of passion, and it was a testament to her fierce love and protective nature. She was immensely proud of her Louisiana Cajun roots, a loyal follower of LSU and the New Orleans Saints football teams, and her spirit was as lively as the cultures she celebrated.
Debbie Guidry will be remembered as a woman who lived her life with humor, creativity, and thoughtfulness. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished and celebrated by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched. Though she has departed from this world, the stories of her love, laughter, and the joy she brought to every occasion will continue to inspire and comfort those she left behind.
