Bernice Guidry, a beloved homemaker and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, in Port Neches, Texas. Born on December 2, 1950, in Port Arthur, Texas, she was a cherished part of her community and a source of love and strength to her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Bernice was an integral member of her church community. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Groves for 30 years and later became a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. Her faith guided her actions and enriched the lives of those around her.
In her role as a homemaker, Bernice found joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and nurturing environment. She was particularly proud of her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as MeMom. Her love for her family was boundless, and her grandchildren brought her immense happiness. Bernice also delighted in the company of her fur babies, who brought her great joy throughout her life. Bernice took great delight in her visits to her favorite place on earth, Disney World.
A notable aspect of Bernice's life was her dedication and support as a military wife for seven years, faithfully standing by her husband, Donnie Guidry, with whom she celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories.
Bernice is survived by her loving husband, Donnie Guidry of Port Neches; her son, Carl Guidry and his wife, Jodie of Nederland; her daughter, Kara Fenn and her husband, James of Bridge City; and her son, Cole Guidry and his wife, Julie of Groves. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Tori Guidry, Joshua Guidry, Macie Reeves, Kaiden Reeves, Dylan Fenn, Andrew Guidry, Nolan Guidry, and Parker Guidry, as well as her sisters, Christine Stewart and her husband, Bobby of Groves, and Lillian Myers of Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Elizabeth Collier, and her brother, Lynn Collier. Bernice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on November 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Beech Creek Baptist Cemetery in Spurger, Texas, at 2:30 PM.
Bernice's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as they cherish the fond memories created during her life.
