Debbie Marie Nearing, 65, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, October 13, 2025, at Scottsdale, Arizona. Debbie Pierce was born on July 14, 1960, to Mary Ellen Bull Bear and Richard Lee Pierce Sr, in Chicago, Illinois.
Debbie moved to Kyle, South Dakota with her mother and 5 siblings around 1973. Eventually, Debbie moved to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1995 where she met the love of her life James Nearing. Jim and Debbie had their first date on November 13, 1998. They were united in marriage on June 11, 2000, and together, with their children, they made a wonderful life. They moved to Bellevue, Nebraska in 2006 where they worked in the Council Bluffs area. Over time, they decided to open their own business in the Bellevue area. They successfully operated Sinful Burger for almost 10 years. During this time in their lives, they met many neighbors who would become beloved lifelong friends.
Debbie loved Christmas and she took pride in her decorations inside and outside of her home. It was spectacular! She also loved Halloween and had some very impressive decorations. Debbie loved to travel and see new places. Together they visited many wonderful places from Hawaii, the pyramids in Mexico, many road trips in the sports car and motorcycle and of course Oatman, Arizona. Debbie loved spending time with her family and friends in the game room singing karaoke, playing music and enjoying a nice, tasty beverage. This tradition continued when they retired. The next trip she had planned for was a visit to the Redwoods and a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway. Above all else, Debbie loved her children and grandchildren and was immensely proud of all of them.
