Born on April 30, 1931, in Gladwin, Michigan, Alvin lived a life rich in love, hard work, and dedication to his family. Alvin was married to the love of his life, Doris Gransden, on June 10, 1950, in Edenville, Michigan. As a proud owner and operator of Nearing Masonry, Alvin exemplified a strong work ethic that he instilled in his family and all who knew him. He was a member of the Birch Run Area Saddle Club, Alvin found joy in farming, riding, and raising horses on the cherished Lucky 7 Ranch. He also had a passion for hunting in his younger years, and later enjoyed restoring tractors, always finding ways to stay engaged and busy. Alvin and Doris shared many adventures, traveling to places such as Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Nevada, creating memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of their loved ones.
Surviving are: Daughters: Laura (Gerald) Fox and Peggy (Rick) Wright; Son-In-Laws: James Robinson and Duane Jones; Grandchildren: James (Tina) Robinson, David Robinson, Tonya (Eric) Sequin, Gerrad (Kasey) Fox, Marcus Fox, Billy (Crystal) Wright, Melanie (Jamie) Matthews and Dan Jones; Great grandchildren: Breanna, Tanner, Benjamin, Ava, Lillianna, Zachary, Alexandria, Finnley, Cooper, Arianna, Weston, Saylor, Parker, Katelyn, Evan, Weston; Sister, Bonnie (Nick) Cotton. He is preceded in passing by his wife, Doris Nearing; Children: Elaine Robinson, Alvin Nearing II, and Suzanne Jones; Grandsons: Scott Fox, James Robinson; Parents, Kenneth and Olive Nearing; Siblings: Norma Jean Balzer, Seal Nearing and Nellie Nearing.
