Debhra Stanislawski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kalkaska Funeral & Cremation Services on Jun. 16, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debhra A. Stanislawski, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on May 6th, 2025, at the age of 68. Debbie, as she was affectionately known, was born on May 9th, 1956, to the late Anna Naganashe and Jim Laughlin in Pestoskey, MI. She spent her life spreading joy and kindness to all who knew her.
In her early years, Debbie lived with her father in Detroit, MI. It was during her time as a waitress that she met Douglas Robertson, a kind-hearted farmer on a motorcycle. Their love blossomed, leading to a beautiful marriage, which brought the both of them to Hillman, MI, and the birth of two wonderful children: Michael, who was known for his bright spirit and charm, and Sarra, who brought joy and laughter to their family. Debbie dedicated herself to her children, teaching Sunday School, volunteering at their school, and creating cherished memories through many activities, including playing games, going swimming, and blueberry picking, and taking her kids on many trips and outings. One of Debbie's main goals and greatest life achievements was to make sure that her kids had a better childhood than she had when she was growing up.
As her children grew into adulthood, Debbie embraced new adventures, eventually finding her way to England. There, she met Felix Stanislawski, a kindred spirit who brought laughter and love into her life. Their romance blossomed to marriage just six months later, and together they explored the beauty of the English countryside, climbing mountains, camping, and visiting historic sites like Nottingham and Sherwood Forest. Debbie's adventurous spirit and zest for life were evident in everything she did.
Debbie would come back to America to visit every summer to keep in touch with her family, friends, and her church family. She remained very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, along with the Victory Baptist Church, her church family, and the Missionaries that she met through her church family. Though her time with us was cut short by an unforeseen illness, Debbie's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. She is survived by her devoted husband, Felix Stanislawski; her beloved children, Michael (Samantha) Robertson and Sarra Rodgers; and her cherished grandchildren, Jaylee Rodgers, Ophelia and Evangeline Cramer, and Destany and Xavier Robertson.
Debbie was the cherished sister of Glenn (Katherine) Stead, Karen Boda, Larry (Laurie) Stead, Mary (Ken) Roberts, Frances Bush, Robert Stead, Beverly McLean, Joseph Stead, and David Stead. She shared a special bond with each of her siblings, creating a tapestry of love and support that would last a lifetime.
A service to celebrate Debbie's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Victory Baptist Church, located at 5280 US-131 South, Boardman, MI. starting at 11am. Following the service will be her burial at the Garfield Cemetery located at 5540 M-66, Kalkaska, MI 49646. Those who wish to attend, are invited back to the Victory Baptist Church for a potluck style luncheon and further celebration of life.
Debbie will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. May her spirit continue to inspire us all to embrace life with the same joy and passion she exemplified.
