Joseph Stanislawski, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 16, 2025.
Joseph was born on July 10, 1941 along with his twin brother Jim, to Frank Stanislawski and Esther Schlesser Stanislawski in Arcadia, WI. At the age of one, the family moved to Winona, Minnesota.
After graduating from Winona High School, Joseph joined the Air Force where he served for 34 years. After his Active Duty service, he was hired with LSI, an Aircraft Modification Team, where he worked all over the United States.
On July 3, 1965 he married the love of his life, Raelene Jensen. The two of them traveled the country for six years until he started his Civil Service job at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah where he and Raelene lived for 30 years before retiring in Altura Minnesota.
Joseph very much enjoyed gardening, wood working, fishing and he cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Raelene; his son, Bill (Renee) Stanislawski; his daughter, Brenda (Chris) Whitcomb, grandchildren Bennett and David Whitcomb, Heidi (Kenny) Gibson, Brady Anderson, Andy Kapitz, Sara (Casey) Jacobson; great grandkids, Ari Sedahl, Finn Sedahl and Wyatt Gibson and his brother Frank (Mary) Stanislawski.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brian; his brothers Jim, Pete, Bob, Tom, and Billie; and a grandson Robby.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Joe Bambenek and Father Jonathan Fasnacht. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles with Military Honors presented by American Legion Hugh Watson Post 190 and VFW Post 5630.
