Deborah Chapman Ardd ("Glammy"), 64, went to be with Jesus unexpectedly -- on Friday, January 3, 2025 -- at her home in Ponte Vedra, Florida. She was born on May 27, 1960, in Savannah, Georgia to Daniel Curtiss Chapman, Jr. and Mary Ellen (Harden) Chapman. Deborah grew up in Darien, Georgia and graduated from Oglethorpe Christian Academy High School and then attended Georgia Southern College. Deborah was married to Bobby Ardd, Jr. of Atlanta from 1982-2006. She lived in San Antonio, Texas and Houston, Texas before moving back to Georgia in 1985. Deborah was currently working as an Assistant VPK Teacher at Crosswater Christian Academy where she was sharing her love of Jesus with small children. She also enjoyed cheering for her beloved Georgia Bulldogs on fall Saturdays and attended the Church of Eleven 22.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Dan and Mary Chapman. Deborah is survived by her daughter, Ashley Ardd Mckinney, son in law - Zack Mckinney and her most precious loves: her two grandchildren, Brooklyn (8) and Brayden (5) McKinney of Ponte Vedra, Florida; brother, Dan Chapman, Watkinsville Georgia; sister, Julie Chapman; niece, Tori Chapman; nephews: Daniel "Chap" Chapman IV, Cash Richard Chapman, Cruz Roland Chapman, and John Chapman. "Glammy's" life revolved around her daughter and two grandchildren, and she will be missed dearly.
A celebration of life will be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debbie's memory to Crosswater Christian Academy -- 211 Davis Park Road, Ponte Vedra, Florida 32081.
