Deborah was born and raised in Onslow County. She was a graduate of Southwest High School. She never knew a stranger and was always up for a good laugh and chat with an old friend. She absolutely loved being a Grandma. She spent most of her weekends with her grandson Amiyas, her "rent free weekend roommate". She enjoyed watching her grandsons' in many activities and sports and was always their biggest cheerleader. Her favorite place was the beach, nothing like the sun in her hair and her toes in the sand. To Deb, life was a vacation and enjoyed many excursions across the open waters with family and friends.
Deborah is preceded in death by her Mother, Eva Lois Brown; and Brother, Marcus Berger.
Deborah is survived by Daughter, Robin Berger of Jacksonville; Son, Joseph Berger of Jacksonville; Grandchildren, Amiya, Jesus, and Cezar; Brother, Michael Berger of South Charleston, Ohio; and Sister, Linda Huffman of Richlands; and many loving nieces and nephews.
God has gained an incredible, beautiful angel with a great heart. She was a beautiful person inside and out, a blessing to all who knew her. This world will not be the same without her smile and thoughtful ways. All will truly miss her!

I am so very shocked and sorry to hear of Debbie´s passing. Our families attended church together in our youth. It has been so wonderful to follow her through social media these last few years. Debbie was a close friend to my mother after I moved away. Love you Debbie. Sweet memories forever. My favorite memory was running through the woods at your parents house and seeing a tiny snake. We both squealed and ran in separate directions to get outta there.

I'm sad and definitely shocked at hearing that Debbie passed away this past Saturday while I was working here in Georgia. That is a crushing blow since we were childhood sweethearts in 1974 all the way through 1997! It has been a long time, but I will miss her!!!!! I hope that you both, Robin and Joey, stay strong with the wonderful memories that you will hold on to!! Just sorry I wasn't around for this devistating event!! If you ever need me to help in any way, just message me on Facebook or on Facebook Messenger!!!!!! I will pray for peace in this most unexpected time of our lives!!!!!! You must know how much I loved you over all of your lifetimes!!!!!!!! Debbie, Kenny, Kaylee, Laurie, and Megan also send to you their condolences!!!
