Deborah Bishop Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations on Dec. 23, 2025.
Deborah Bishop, age 72, passed away on December 20, 2025. She was born on January 23, 1953, to the late James and Donna (née Johnson) Hammonds.

A woman of deep faith and musical talent, Deborah dedicated much of her life to her church. She was a gifted pianist and organist who possessed a beautiful voice and loved leading others in song. Her heart was often lifted by Southern Gospel music, and she found great peace visiting Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Her dog, Oliver, was a constant and cherished companion.

Deborah is survived by her husband of 20 years, Benny Bishop; her children, Jamie (Dominic) Vivolo, Angie (Joel) Kelly, Hal (Joy) Horton, and Jayme Horton; nine grandchildren: Emma, Giovani, Hope, Mitchell, Rachel, Jenna, Ty, Chad, and Josh; her great-granddaughter, Anna; and her sisters, Patricia (Alan) Watson and Traci (Phil) Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepdaughter, Linda Lee.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Christian Life Church, 8250 Garfield Rd, Mentor, OH 44060 at 11:30am with a Celebration of Life at noon. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the services.

Dear family, please accept my sincerest sympathy for your loss. I lost touch with Deb after high school but I'll always remember the great times and fun we had on a daily basis. I believe she is with our Lord and is resting in peace. God bless you all.
