Robert Duane Hastings Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert D. Hastings Jr., who passed away

on February 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 17, 1960, in East

Cleveland, Ohio, to Robert D. Hastings Sr. ("Red") and Margaret Joanne Hastings ("Peggy")(née Whetsel).

Bob with several affectionate nicknames such as "Zeke" and "World" was a devoted father,

grandfather, and family man whose greatest joy was spending time with those he loved-especially

his grandchildren. He is survived by his cherished children, Nicole Hastings (Jeremy) and Robert D.

Hastings III (Rosa). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jayden and Kylie Porter, who will miss their beloved "Pap Pap" dearly. He is also mourned by Char, Kelly Lunato (Donny Ledford), Richard

Szabo, and Caleb Ledford, along with many extended family members, including an Aunt, Uncle,

Nieces, and friends, especially his lifelong friend Eddie Gvora.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. Hastings Sr. ("Red") and Margaret Joanne

Hastings ("Peggy"), and by his sister, Cynthia L. Smith.

Bob had a larger than life personality and was truly known as the life of the party. Wherever he went, laughter, music, and fun followed. He loved watching football and was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers

fan. An excellent athlete, Bob grew up racing motocross/dirt bikes and carried that competitive spirit

throughout his life. He especially enjoyed golfing with family from Pennsylvania and Columbus,

creating countless memories on and off the course.

A passionate music lover, Bob was an avid fan of The Temptations and Motown, and he loved

nothing more than dancing, celebrating, and partying with his family and cousins when they came in

from out of town. His energy, excitement, and love for life made every gathering brighter, and his

presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to

7:00 p.m. at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, located at 35400 Curtis Boulevard, Eastlake, Ohio. A

funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., also at Monreal Srnick

Funeral Home, followed by interment at Mentor Cemetery.

Robert's memory will live on through the laughter he shared, the music he loved, and the family he

cherished.
