Douglas Meyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations on Mar. 17, 2026.
Douglas Meyer, age 41, known affectionately by family and friends as both "Doug" and "Randy," of Willowick, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2026. Born on August 17, 1984, in Oklahoma City, he was a man of great strength, a protector of his family, and a creative soul who left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Doug dedicated a portion of his life to serving his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he became a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local Union 2955. A gifted craftsman, Doug possessed the rare ability to build or fix anything; his hands were rarely still, and he took immense pride in providing for those he loved.

While known for his hardworking nature and his love for the outdoors, Randy recently discovered a new passion in writing poetry. This hobby revealed the depth of his character-a man who was as sensitive and thoughtful as he was strong. Above all, Randy was a devoted family man whose greatest goal in life was the happiness of his wife and children. He was the person everyone could count on, always ready to take care of others before himself.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Leza Meyer, and their cherished children: Adrian, Leigha, Madison, and Dustin. He is also survived by his father, Doug Meyer; his mother, Tammy Meyer (nee Baldwin); and his grandmother, Karenne Stannard.

He leaves behind a loving extended family, including his aunts Shirley Spraguer, Dawn Meyer, Sherry Phillips, Ryan Baldwin and Jayme Baldwin; his uncle Robert Baldwin; his great-aunt Stephanie Wolf (Hal Arnst); and his father-in-law, Stephen Gruden. He will be deeply missed by a host of friends and union brothers who knew him as both Doug and Randy.

Randy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janie Baldwin.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate and honor the life of Doug and Randy on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH 44095.

A Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

His legacy of hard work, creative expression, and selfless love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
