Deborah Lynnette Boone

Deborah "Deb" Lynette Chism Boone, 64, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Deb was born in Chattanooga, TN, on December 13, 1961, and was the oldest of three children. She accepted Christ at an early age and learned to believe in and trust Jesus as her Savior.

Deb enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays, with Thanksgiving being her favorite. She also enjoyed serving in any capacity at her church until her health declined. Deb faithfully served for many years on the scholarship committee at Victory Church under Bishop Kenneth H. Dupree.

Deb received her education in Chattanooga, TN, graduating from Chattanooga High School with the Class of 1980. She later went on to earn her nursing degree from Tennessee State University in 1989, becoming a Registered Nurse.

Deb spent 31 years working as a Registered Nurse in a variety of environments, serving in roles ranging from RN to RN Case Manager Supervisor. She was known for her steady presence and practical approach to patient care. Deb valued hard work and consistency, and nursing remained an important part of her life.

Outside of work, Deb enjoyed watching game shows, vacationing at the beach, engaging in a little retail therapy, and cheering on her Pittsburgh Steelers. She appreciated familiar routines and staying connected with friends and loved ones she had known for many years.

Deb leaves to cherish her memory her children: Cedric Turner, Shauntae (Caprice) Prowell, and Jada Knight; her granddaughters, Imani Covington and Juliet Blevins; her husband, Melvin Boone; her siblings, Denise Chism-Ragland and Michael (Tamica) Chism; her nieces and nephews, Alexis Stamper, Willie Bonds IV, Mikia Chism, Michael Chism Jr., and Meagan Chism; her aunt, Alice (Johnny) Henson; and her chosen family: Brenda (Martin) Reed, Juan (Carmen) Knight, Nicole Wells, Betty Johnson, Pamela Wheeler, Richauna Hart, and Trammel Hymes, along with a host of other loved ones, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Chism, along with a host of beloved aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207.

Burial will take place on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, TN.
