Deborah Lee Bulliner

Deborah Lee Bulliner, age 84, of Kitty Hawk, NC passed away on June 13, 2024. Born on January 10, 1940, Deborah was the daughter of Robert Cain Bulliner and Evelyn Wilson Bulliner. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Walter Cain Bulliner.
Along with her parents and brother, the Bulliners were hard working business owners in Elizabeth City for over 50 years. Oxena (which was her mother's middle name) News Stand served as a gathering place many mornings for the local police force, attorneys, and downtown business owners. Deborah was a fixture there and most knew her from frequenting the store to buy magazines, novels or to enjoy an Oxaburger and orangeade in the soda shop.
In her younger days Deborah was in the Elizabeth City High School marching band and played the French Horn. She spent time camping, fishing, and woodworking. After she moved to Kitty Hawk she enjoyed making and giving away all types of pottery including jewelry and vases. She was an avid movie buff, loved feeding the birds at her cottage and taking care of her dog and cats. Deborah got a kick out of a good joke and will be remembered for her hearty laugh. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her nephews, Glenn Robert Bulliner (Kelley) and Shawn Gordon Bulliner (Ashleigh); niece, Lisa Bulliner Godwin; her great nieces Bishop Marie Godwin and Ann Parke Cain Godwin; and her great nephew Caden Douglas Bulliner; and her friend, Mike Nemitz.
A service will be held at a later date.
