Deborah Lee Cadwallender, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 71 in Perry, Michigan. Born on June 19, 1953, in Owosso, Michigan, Deborah's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and creativity.
Deborah, known for her loving and thoughtful nature, graduated from Morrice High School in 1971. She furthered her education, demonstrating her dedication and zest for knowledge, by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Lake Superior State University in 1997. Her intellectual pursuits were only a part of her remarkable journey as she balanced her academic life with her innate ability to make a house a home.
A talented quilter and crafter, Deborah infused warmth and beauty into every piece she created. Her hands were rarely still, as she believed in the magic of transforming simple fabrics into quilts that would wrap her loved ones in comfort. Her home was a canvas for her creativity, and her family and friends were the recipients of her countless crafted treasures.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Bruce Cadwallender, with whom she shared a life full of joy and partnership. Together, they raised a daughter, Heather Nevicato, and a son, Scott Cadwallender, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and care. Deborah's pride and joy extended to her grandchildren, Parker (Jordan) Nevicato and Faith Nevicato, who will forever cherish the memories of their grandmother's gentle guidance and unconditional love. Also, Deborah's sister, Lisa (Steve) Freeland, and her cherished nieces and nephew, Paige Freeland, Ryan Freeland, and Emily Jones.
As we say farewell to Deborah Lee Cadwallender, we celebrate the life of a woman who was the very essence of love and creativity. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be treasured as a source of comfort and inspiration. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit will continue to be felt in the quilts that adorn our homes, the crafts that add beauty to our spaces, and the love that binds her family together.
A service to honor Deborah will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Perry Chapel, located at 214 S. Main St., Perry, Michigan. Visitation will beheld an hour prior.
