Deborah (Debbie) June Chilcote-Pollakowski, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 10,2025, in Amarillo.
Debbie was born on October 15, 1953, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Bob and Geneva (June) Randolph. The family later moved to Borger, Texas, where Debbie built a life grounded in love, faith and dedication.
She graduated from Borger High School in 1972 and later attended Amarillo College earning her degree in 1974, in ultrasonography.
Debbie worked at Golden Plains Hospital until her retirement, Her calm spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering dedication to patients made her a beloved member of the hospital community.
She had a true green thumb and could grow just about anything--except succulents, which she often jokingly admitted. Her garden reflected her personality: vibrant, nurturing, and full of life.
Above all, Debbie was devoted to her family and friends. She was the one people called in times of joy and sorrow--always present, always loving, always dependable. Her heart was big enough to hold everyone close and she was deeply loved in return by all who knew her.
Debbie is preceded in death by her second husband, Richard Chilcote; her parents, Bob and June Randolph; her son, Bobby Counts; her aunts Judy Hinchey, Doris Thompson and Renetta Small.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Pollakowski; her son Darin Chilcote (Kristen); her stepdaughters: Renee Talbott (Chance) and Tonya Ledford (Jake Keel); her daughter-in-law, Kim Hill (Matt); her grandsons: Cameron Counts, Deegan Ledford and Landon Talbott; her granddaughter Andie Chilcote; her aunt Joyce Fountain; and many dear cousins who were more like siblings than relatives; and her two beloved dogs Popeye and Gracie.
Debbie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, joy and fierce love. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the impact she made will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial visitation will be held July 28,2025, from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st Street, Borger.
But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion", says my soul, "therefore I will hope in Him." The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good the one should wait quietly for this is salvation of the Lord.
