Loving Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Sister
OAKVILLE - It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah (Onofreo) Ciccio, 73, of Oakville, formerly of Waterbury, share the news of her peaceful passing on January 10, 2025, after a brief illness.
Deborah was born in Waterbury on September 15, 1951, daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Rubino) Onofreo. She graduated from Wilby High School, class of 1969, and from Mattatuck Community College with an AS degree in Business. Deborah was a secretary at a Wolcott law firm for many years and held various other jobs throughout her life. She was an avid gardener, loved floral arranging, crocheting, reading novels and watching old movies. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach and outdoor concerts, but most of all, being with her family and friends. She considered her cousin, Alberta (Onofreo) Arens, her best friend throughout her entire life with so many memories of growing up together on Perkins Avenue.
Deborah is survived by her son, Thomas Ciccio, her grandson, Amato Ciccio and his fiancé, Megan Weaver, her great granddaughter, Kennedy Ciccio, her sisters; Donna (Onofreo) McCulloch and Doreen (Onofreo) Lawson, her brothers; Edward Onofreo and his wife, Karen, and Paul Onofreo, Sr. and his wife Linda. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Deborah will be held on Saturday, January 25th at The Bible Church, 240 Dwight St. in Waterbury at 1:00 PM. Burial of her cremains will be at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will follow this coming spring.
