Deborah Cornett, a beloved member of the Hyden, Kentucky community, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at her residence in Hyden. She was 73 years old. Born on July 23, 1951, Deborah dedicated 23 years of her life to the Frontier Nursing Service Midwifery School, a testament to her commitment to nurturing and caring for others.
Deborah’s passions were as vibrant as her spirit; she found joy in gardening, sewing, and bird watching. Above all, she cherished the moments spent with her family and her beloved dogs, Squirt and Skiddles, who brought much happiness into her life. Her faith also played a significant role in her life as a devoted member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ.
She is survived by her five daughters: Sundie Raines Adams, Lorrie Stewart, Audrey Feltner and her husband Lance, Katie Cornett, and Georgia Caudill and her husband Bryon. Deborah was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Emily Jones and her husband Tony, Maidylin Raines & Ian, Kylie Wallace, Emma Feltner, Darren Feltner, and Bryson Caudill. She was especially delighted to welcome her great-grandchild, Carter Jones, into the world, and brothers, Wilburn Day & Christy, Lowell Howard & Vicki and Robert Howard & Betty. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
Deborah was preceded in death by her biological father, Lowell Howard; her father who raised her, Dillard Coots; her mother, Lorraine Lewis Coots; and her siblings Anita Pennington, Walter Howard, and Constance Howard. In her journey through life, Deborah left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family will be remembered fondly by those she touched.
Funeral: Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky

Interment: Grassy Gap Cemetery (Leeco Road) Hyden, Kentucky
Pallbearers: Bryon Caudill, Tony Jones, Ean McQueen, Patrick Pennington and Matthew Hoskins
Visitation: Thursday, May 29th at 11:00 A.M. until funeral hour at the Funeral Home Chapel
