Deborah “Deb” Kaye Mills was born in Oklahoma City on October 20, 1972 to Denver and Lindell Mills. She passed on her 52nd birthday, October 20, 2024.
Deb’s zest for life was evident at an early age. She excelled in athletics and mastered every ball, racquet, glove, field and court she met. She was named Best Senior Female Athlete at PC North and also received the Outstanding Female Athlete award at Oklahoma Baptist University. As great as she was in sports, she was an even better friend and giver of time, love, and kindness. She loved all people and animals. She lit up every room she entered and had the unique gift of making everyone feel at ease and special. She was a bright star – smiling and spreading optimism to one and all.
Music came naturally to Deb and it was her passion. She was a natural entertainer playing the drums and guitar and singing with her close friends in the band, Iris.
Deb was predeceased by her grandparents and her father, Denver Mills. She is survived by her mother, Lindell Taylor (Larry). Deb is also survived by the light of her life -- her three children -- Cooper, Sutton, and Sawyer Mills. She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Wilson Wheeler (David), and brother, David Mills (Christine). There is a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as her precious dog, Roo, who loved Deb and will miss her dearly.
Services will be Thursday, October 24 at 1pm at the Crossings Chapel (14600 N. Portland, OKC). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Deb’s name to the Oklahoma Zoological Trust to benefit the OKC Zoo.
