Deborah Desso Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ford Stewart Funeral Home Inc. - Jonesboro on Feb. 22, 2026.
Deborah (Debbie) Blume Desso, 77, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born in Columbia, SC on October 31, 1948, she was the daughter of John William (Buddy) and Dorothy Martin Blume. Debbie spent many years as an elementary school teacher at J.W. Arnold Elementary and then retired to take care of her family home and travel with her husband, Henry. They never missed an opportunity to travel to see their grandchildren or friends. They traveled the world and experienced many adventures. She would relish sharing her stories and souvenirs. She was known for her smile and loving demeanor. She knew no stranger. Her family knew her as "Mighty Mouse" for her short stature but strong will. Her mantra was "dynamite comes in small packages". Her grandchildren knew her as Grammy and knew exactly how much they were loved. She never missed a chance to spend time with any of her family or friends. She cherished the many phone calls with her sister even though they were far apart, they talked as if they were next door. Henry was the love of her life, and her main goal was making his life complete.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Henry Desso and her children Lori Courtney (Mike) and son Anthony "Tony" Desso (Kristina) and grandchildren, Justin Noble, Matthew Noble, Anthony Desso Jr. (AJ) and James Desso and her sister Joni Ingram (Bill) and nephew Martin Ingram and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother William (Billy) Blume.

Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be determined and posted on Facebook. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made in her name to the March of Dimes, P.O. Box 5141Boone, IA 50950.
