Deborah A. Ellingford, 69, of Cheyenne, died on December 14, 2022 in Cheyenne.
She was born on April 26, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Dan and Mary Lou Palmer, the first of 4 kids in this Military Family. The family grew as they were stationed in Roswell, NM, Fort Dix, NJ, Drew AFB, France, Charleston, SC and finally arrived in Cheyenne, WY during her High School years. Deb met Mike Ellingford, who was in the Air Force. They were married the December following Deb's graduation. Deb continued to experience the Military life as they were stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. Soon they returned to Cheyenne where they established their civilian life. Deb and Mike were married for 31 years when Mike passed away unexpectedly.
Deb was a long-term employee for the State of Wyoming, the last 20 years as a valued member at the Department of Audit as a Senior Accountant and was still active in her job. Outside of work, Deb was a supporter of the local high school sports teams and active in Cheyenne Umpires Association (CUA) as a score keeper and cheering squad. Umpires reported she was excellent at scorekeeping, but did not take grief from anyone and that was fun to watch if you were not the target. Deb was a lifelong bowler with her spouse Mike and continued to bowl with her daughter on leagues following Mike's passing. Additionally, Deb loved talking about the NFL and routed for anyone who could beat the Broncos and Raiders and was a long-distance supporter of the Packers, but not a Cheese-Head. Deb was a closet Disney fan and who liked to visit the Disney Parks frequently. She loved Tigger and Tinker Bell who shared a birth year with Debbie. She was also an avid reader and crossword puzzle aficionado. Although she tried several crafts, she was not naturally a crafter and usually returned any unfinished crafts to her sister.
She is survived by her children, daughter Kellie of Cheyenne and estranged son Keith of Washington; Father, Daniel Palmer Sr and Spouse Barbara Palmer of Albin; Siblings, Daniel (Mack) Palmer Jr and Spouse Sue Palmer of Cheyenne, Terrie Palmer of Fort Collins, Colorado and Scott Palmer of Cheyenne, and a Grandson, Kyren Ellingford and Spouse Michelle Ellingford of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Also, several nieces, nephews, a grandniece and grandnephew of Cheyenne and Port Orange, Florida.
Deborah was preceded in death by her spouse, Michael W Ellingford, and her mother Mary Lou Palmer.
