Deborah Froman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory - Historical Downtown Chapel on Nov. 23, 2025.
On November 21, 2025, Deborah K. Froman earned her angel wings. Born an only child, she had a very close bond with her small family. She graduated with a nursing degree from St. Francis and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, James Froman. As a nurse, Debbie cared for people professionally for 31 years at Northwest Community Hospital and personally cared for others for nearly all of her 74 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had many dear friends who were like family, and true to her Irish roots, she treated strangers as friends she hadn't met yet. When her children were young, she hosted nearly every holiday and always had a packed house on Christmas Eve. She loved to travel and planned some pretty epic vacations. She spent much time at The Chain of Lakes boating with her family and friends. She loved to shop, talk on the phone, and watch her soaps. She was a dog lover and was over the moon with love for her grandkids. She was with Jim for 59 years and married to him for 54. Their love was something to write songs about.
In the 1980's, Debbie fought to get asbestos out of our schools and won, like Erin Brockovich, without the movie and acclaim. She also helped Jim with running his HVAC business for many years, and when a latex allergy put an end to her nursing career, she became a patient advocate. In much of her retirement, she has called Naperville home.
Debbie was proceeded in death by her grandparents, most notably LaVonda Harl who was certainly one of the first to greet her in Heaven, her parents, Jimmy and Geraldine Patrick, her Aunt Carol Roy who was a like a sister, her feisty Pomeranian Maggie and many other dogs.
She leaves behind her husband Jim Froman, children Jeff (Lisa) Froman, Jennifer (Patrick) Elder, and grandchildren Zander and Mason Froman, and Kylee and Elisa Elder. She will be missed by many, including cousins, in-laws, and friends.
