Deborah Lorraine Stern Huff, MD died on September 9th, 2022. Debbie was born to Dan and Nialta Stern on October 10, 1958, in Oklahoma City. She attended high school in Edmond and went to Oklahoma State for her undergraduate work. She then attended the University of Oklahoma Medical School to get her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology; later she attended Auburn University to receive her master's in business administration.
Debbie was amazing. She was beloved by her husband, John Huff, MD She was the loving and proud mother of Sara Kate Little, Michael Huff, MD, Daniel Huff, MD, and Laura Thompson. Debbie had a passion for Women's Care and was instrumental in the development and administration of Lakeside Women's Hospital. During her professional career, she delivered over ten thousand babies and loved every one of those experiences. She served on the State of Medical Licensure board for over twenty years and was selected as Woman of the Year for Oklahoma. She was honored by a Distinguished Alumni Award of Oklahoma State and served as a Governor. Debbie also served as the physician for the Thunder wives.
Debbie was a choir member and attended a children's camp most years as the physician to kiss booboos and place band aids. She loved the Lord and touched hearts wherever she went. She went on multiple church mission trips and treated patients around the world.
Debbie loved sports and was always vocal in her support of any team that she adopted. She loved to play tennis, water ski, snow ski, gardening and taking care of her animals.
Most of all, Debbie loved life and anyone she came into contact with. She prayed with and supported her patients. She was always laughing, singing, and dancing with anyone who was around her. She would sing made-up songs in the tunnels of Paris subways and dancing in the streets of Venice. She loved adventure and introducing all of those around her to it. Her family was blessed to travel the world with her and able to visit most of the continents.
Seven years ago, she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. She immediately stopped her practice and didn't want to share her diagnosis, because she didn't want to burden others with her problem. She developed a new job as a grandmother- GaGa and started instilling her love for life into them. She fought the disease and enrolled in experimental drug studies. Ultimately, she lost her battle to the disease. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of friendship with so many friends and family. Her siblings, Adam Stern, Dan Stern, Diana Shaffer, and Dana Palovik, miss her and were very loving and supportive of her. The life she lived is the mark that we all strive to achieve, and she is sorely missed. The family wishes to thank her caregivers and special friends that supported and loved her during her last years including, Dia Best, Laura Mackie, Gina Setticerze, and Janet Ritchie. Toye Mitchell loved her and was her special partner in living life an inciting laughter for these last years.
A celebration service will be held on September 27th at Crossings Community Church (14600 Portland Avenue) at 1pm. All who knew her and want to celebrate her life are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

I had the pleasure of being present at the grand opening of Lakeside Women's Hospital and celebrating a beautiful medical facility a one of a kind at that time. I worked with John Huff, MD as well as his partners Matthew Britt, MD and David Boggs, MD and had the privilege of knowing Dr. Debbie she was a beautiful soul who truly cared for her patient's and the love of her life John it was storybook marriage that gave me inspiration frequently. This very special woman and physician a true legend will remain in all of our hearts God bless you.

Dr Huff walked me through two miscarriages and one birth. She and I had a few life changing ( for me) conversations that I identified tell others about. Times God specifically spoke to me through her. My daughter Reagan is now 21 years old and living back in OKC. I was going to send her to Dr Huff for her well woman needs. I am so sad to hear of her passing and her struggle with Alzheimer´s. I am thankful she is now whole in the arms of Jesus. I am forever thankful for her role in my life. Thank you sweet sister for everything. Attached is a pic of Reagan now.

I met Dr. Huff 35 years ago and she saved my life twice!! One time in an emergency situation running thru the tunnel at Baptist and the other when she found my cancer early. I am 33 years cancer free! She came to visit me after surgery and brought flowers. She was truly a special person and I am glad that I had the privilege to know her. She will light up heaven!!
