Deborah D. Hyde, age 73, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away on June 16, 2025. She was born on September 3, 1951, in Dover, Delaware, to the late Clifton and Margaret (Duncan) Short.

In her younger years, Deborah was an avid softball player and developed a lifelong love for the outdoors-especially fishing and anything that kept her connected to nature. She married the love of her life, James R. Hyde, and together they raised two children, creating a life full of laughter, love, and adventure. Their favorite place to spend time was at their family cabin in Caseville, Michigan, where summer weekends were filled with treasured memories. After James's passing in 1998, Deborah continued to visit the cabin, finding comfort and connection to his memory in the beauty of nature.

Deborah was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading romance novels and could often be found immersed in a book or watching her favorite show, Heartland. But more than anything, she loved being with her children and granddaughter, finding her greatest happiness in their company.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Michael Hyde and Matthew Hyde; cherished granddaughter, Buffy Hyde; and her loving siblings, James Short and Diane Soligo. She was also preceded in death by her brother Cliff Short.

A celebration of Deborah's beautiful life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Rd., Waterford, Michigan 48329.
