Deborah Rae Joustra, age 66, of Lamar, Missouri passed away December 11, 2023, at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, MO.
Deborah was born May 24, 1957 in Pueblo, Colorado to Harry Hubert Gammon and Zona Florence (Willis) Gammon. On June 18, 1976, Deborah married Dr. Clarence Tucker Joustra in Lamar, MO.
Deborah worked alongside her husband in creating his physician office in Lamar and maintaining the business for several years until she chose to stay home and be a housewife.
Deborah was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and hardly ever missed watching a game. She enjoyed all animals and always had a following of cats asking for her attention. She was big on family and relished any time spent with her grandchildren.
Deborah spent many years involved at First Christian Church in Lamar. She was involved in youth group, teen choir, worship ministry and sang with the Grace Notes. She is a believer and follower of Jesus, who called her home suddenly. She touched many lives in a positive way. She is missed.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Clarence Taylor Joustra and one daughter, Stephanie Rae Crossley and husband James, all of Lamar, MO; seven grandchildren, Jaeci Joustra, Cole Crossley, Mac Crossley, Zee Crossley, Sam Crossley, Rae Crossley and Ty Crossley.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO., with burial to follow at Lefler Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, December 15, 2023 at the funeral home.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the City of Lamar Animal Shelter in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
