Deborah "Deb" Ann Klug, age 69, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Gundersen Medical Center.
Born on July 22, 1955, in Arcadia, WI, Deb was the beloved daughter of Betty (Stencil) and Cecil Maliszewski. She graduated from Arcadia High School in 1973, where she excelled academically, and later pursued higher education at Western Technical College and Viterbo University.
Deb dedicated 43 years of her professional life to Western Technical College, starting as the cafeteria manager and ultimately leading the Food Service Department. Her passion for her work and joy in mentoring young adults pursuing their careers left a lasting impact on her colleagues and students. Deb retired in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication.
Deb’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her loving children, Nicole Klug of La Crosse, and Keith (Katie) Klug of Oconomowoc, as well as her cherished granddaughter, Annica, of La Crosse. She is also survived by her four siblings: Mikki (Darwin) Embke, Aimee (Jeff) Meier, Jamie (Julie) Maliszewski, and Mark Maliszewski, along with 11 nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, and younger sister Cheri.
A devout member of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph the Workman in La Crosse, Deb was active in her faith community. She served on various committees, councils, and even contributed by caring for church linens, reflecting her humble and giving nature.
Visitation will be held at Blaschke-Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, on Thursday, January 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow on Friday, January 31, at 9:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph the Workman, 530 Main St., La Crosse, with a visitation starting at 8:30 a.m., at Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Pine Creek, WI, later in the day.
Deb will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her kindness, faith, and love for her family will be cherished forever.
