Deborah Lonon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary - Dothan on Mar. 31, 2025.
Deborah Elaine Teague Lonon, a beacon of love and faith, was born on October 10, 1964, in Columbia, Alabama. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend who lived a life exemplifying the virtues of kindness, compassion, and dedication. Deborah's earthly journey concluded peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Lawrenceville, GA, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration.
From her early days, Deborah was a bright light in her community. She embraced her faith at Macedonia Baptist Church in Columbia, Alabama, where she learned to see the good in everyone and treat all with equality. Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident to all who knew her, setting a sterling example of a life lived with purpose and grace. Deborah's academic journey was marked by excellence. A proud graduate of Ashford High School in 1983, she was an active member of the Beta Club, Afro Club, and Key Club, and her dedication to her studies earned her a full academic scholarship. She graduated magna cum laude from Alabama A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Where she was also a member of Sigma Tau Epsilon. Her pursuit of knowledge continued at Kennesaw State University, where she earned her Master's in Accounting, making the president's list for her outstanding achievements. Her professional life was as remarkable as her academic one.
Deborah began her career as a COOP Student at IBM in Texas and later moved to Atlanta, where worked at various companies within the metro-Atlanta area. Years later she joined T-Mobile as a Project Manager. Her work ethic was unparalleled, and even as her health began to wane, she persevered, continuing to excel in her role until God called her home. Deborah's dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family, whom she placed above all else.
Deborah was also a creative soul, having authored the book "Colorful Friendships," which added to the tapestry of her vibrant life. Her ability to connect with people, to forge lasting relationships, and to bring joy into the lives of others was truly remarkable. In every aspect of her life, Deborah Elaine Teague Lonon was a motivational force. Her presence encouraged others to strive for greatness, to love deeply, and to serve with a joyful heart. She was the epitome of a life well-lived, and her memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her most extraordinary achievement may well have been her ability to make each person she encountered feel valued and loved.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, H.C. and Bertha Teague of Columbia, AL; her grandparents, Wilson and Odell Bulgers of Columbia, AL, Hosea and Flora Teague of Columbia, AL, and Mack Lonon of Savannah, GA.
She leaves behind a family who will carry on her legacy: her loving husband, Barrett Lonon of Lawrenceville, GA; her daughter, Mya Lonon of Lawrenceville, GA; her son, Maurio Hill of Montgomery, Alabama; siblings Carolyn (Larry) Franklin of Dothan, Alabama, Barbara (John) Conley of Austell, GA, and Brittney Teague of Midland City, Alabama; her mother-in-law, Edith Lonon of Montgomery, Alabama; brothers-in-law Michael Lonon of Montgomery, Alabama, and Craig (Tina) Lonon of Marietta, Georgia; sister-in-law: Sonja (Kelvin) Armstrong; nephews: Caleb Tillman, Richard Phillips, Michael Clark, Jordan Lonon, Devin Lonon and Isaiah Armstrong; nieces: Alyssa and Asha Armstrong; a honorary sister: Yvette Cooper Clark; aunt/like a sister: Marilyn Godfrey; long term friend: Deborah Kirkland and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family members who adored her.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Deborah´s passing. Having worked alongside her at T-Mobile corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia for over 15 years. She was my Manager for almost 5 years. I had the privilege of witnessing her kindness, dedication, and unwavering positivity every day. She was more than just a colleague-she was a friend, a mentor, and a truly wonderful person.

Deborah had a way of making even the most challenging days brighter with her warmth and humor. Her impact on those who knew her is immeasurable, and she will be greatly missed.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who loved her. May we find comfort in the memories we shared and the lasting imprint she left on our hearts.

With deepest sympathy,
Mrs. Andrea Hyde
