Deborah J. McLaughlin

Debbie McLaughlin born June 06,1960 in Annapolis, Maryland to Jane Fang and Edward Mathes. She lived in Annapolis until the age of 14 when she moved to Baltimore with family. In 1980 she gave birth to her daughter Theresa McLaughlin. In 1983 they moved to New Mexico. That's when contact with her daughter stopped. In 1988 she would meet one of her lifelong friends Lorene (37 years). Throughout the years Debbie and Lorene would not only be friends but co-workers and roommates. Debbie became family to her and her children. In 1991 she met two more lifelong friends Cathie (34 years) and Theresa (34 years). She also lived with each of them. Debbie also became family to them and their children. Her friends' children grew up knowing her as Aunt Debbie. Debbie worked in maid service for many years before she found her career in medical records at MDC where she worked for 22 years. In the early 2000's Debbie found and met her daughter. Debbie and another lifelong friend Christine traveled to Montana to meet her. Debbie would say this was something that made her complete. In December 2022 Debbie was diagnosed with colon cancer. She fought hard every day through the chemo treatments, radiation, and numerous doctor appointments. In November 2024 it was said nothing ore could be done. She entered hospice care and we got to spend the last couple of months loving her and making memories to cherish for a lifetime. On January 09, 2025, Debbie took her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven. Debbie will be missed for the joy, the love and the light she brought into everyone's lives. Debbie is survived by her best friends who became her sisters Lorene, Cathie, and Theresa. Her nieces and nephews Sheri, David, Isaiah, Noah, Chris, Noelani, Justyse, Tristian, Serenity, Urijah, Percephanie, Infurious, Eros, Stephanie, Jeff, Alexia, Jonah, Adriana, Ashley, Jeremy, NaCoya, Brooklyn, Braxton, Caleb, Payton, Tiffany, Jesus, Johanna, Layla, Graysyn, Kristen. Felix, Dominic, Hope, Nicole, Amanda, Benji, Traci, Brandy, Mike, Julian, Michael, Matthew, Angel, Estevon, Patricia, Christopher, and Jeremiah, Boyce, Jimmy, Isaiah. Debbie will be missed very much. The light she brought to the world will be forever missed. Services will be held at Albuquerque Revival Church 124 Texas St. NE Albuquerque, NM 87108 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Debbie's honor to either American Cancer Society or Healthcare for the homeless (Albuquerque).
